Commercial Lines Associate

RIBO licensed a must as well as some Marine experience 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

Your knowledge and experience in commercial insurance combined with your attention to detail and customer service focus are the keys to success in the role of Commercial Lines Account Associate. 

  • Working in a team based structure to service, retain and grow existing portfolios.
  • Supporting Account team by servicing client day to day needs  and communicate with insurers.
  • Identifying new business or client up-sell/cross-selling opportunities
  • Establish networks and partnerships in the Marina segment
  • Providing suggestions for continuous improvements in workflows and procedures.
  • Effective client servicing and support to the Account Manager
  • Answering client queries and communicating with insurance companies
  • Accountable for managing accounts receivable balances.
  • Performing administrative functions such as invoicing, online filing of emails,  policy issuance etc.
  • Participating in industry networking functions, training and professional development courses to enhance skills and industry knowledge.
  • Providing assistance where required and perform all other duties as assigned by the Account team

Qualifications and Experience:       

  • Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 2 years of commercial experience (broker, underwriting or claims) required
  • RIBO Licensed or in progress (within 3 months of employment)
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Experience in Epic or equivalent insurance broker management systems
  • CIP/CAIB/CRM Designation in progress (an asset)
  • Strong organizational, time and client management skills
  • Effective communication skills: verbal and written
  • Strong team player
  • Proactive and customer focused approach
  • Strong initiative and follow up skills
  • Knowledge of diverse insurance policies and emerging insurance trends
  • Resourceful researching skills 
  • Marinas and /or Marine dealership industry experience an asset
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a key member of a team and independently with minimal supervision;
  • Strong attention to detail, time management and analytical skills;
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills are also required.
