This role is ideal for someone who has 2-3 years life insurance experience and a background with compliance. The primary focus of this role is the handling of compliance complaints and provide guidance on inquiries and issues surrounding the responsibilities of insurance licensees.

The ideal candidate will have a background in compliance and conducting investigations ideally in a regulatory setting, life insurance experience and good report writing abilities with excellent communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Review complaints against licensees or former licensees and identify potential risks to the public 

· Develop and issue reminder letters on conduct concerns 

· Prepare and present reports and letters of consideration 

· Assist in resolving complaints or concerns with licensees by investigation and directing accordingly

· Review, research and respond both verbally and in writing to inquiries;

· Prepare both external and internal written communications and keep up to date on legislation, practices and regulation;

· Identify emerging trends and develop recommended courses of action

Qualifications

· 3-5 years’ experience in an compliance capacity within a regulatory or compliance setting within the insurance industry.

· Life Insurance experience  (General insurance experience is an asset also)

· Insurance or financial services certification (such as CAIB, CIP, CFP, CLU or CFE) is an asset.

· Valid B.C. driver’s license and use of a personal vehicle (some travel within the province)

· Conflict resolution and negotiation skills, analytical and judgment skills.

· Excellent oral, written communication skills, organizational skills and attention to detail.
