The Opportunity:

Our client is looking for a confident leader who is comfortable leading both in the office and remotely to become their next Casualty Claims Supervisor for Bodily Injury. The successful candidate will possess a rare balance of technical expertise and the ability to guide others. The main goals of this position are to ensure the smooth operation of the department and to help the team of which you are in charge to grow and reach their potential.

Responsibilities:

  • Help the team to interpret complex policy wordings by using coaching in order to determine claim coverage
  • Monitor team performance by overseeing indemnity and expense payments
  • Review casualty claims files and identify learning opportunities
  • Ensure maximum efficiency and productivity by following company guidelines
  • Work with all stakeholder to come to a fair and acceptable outcome for all
  • Work with employees to achieve their development goals
  • Attend court proceedings and other dispute resolution processes
  • Remain up to date on industry and legislative changes

About You:

You are a grizzled veteran in the claims space and there is very little in the Bodily Injury Liability Claims area that you have yet to encounter. You know the industry well and have developed your own leadership style based on your favourite leaders. You have reached the point in your career where you feel comfortable coaching and guiding your more junior colleagues and take pride in your ability to act as a fountain of knowledge for all those that you encounter.

 

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of casualty claims handling experience with a strong understanding of Bodily Injury Liability Claims
  • 5+ years experience in both personal and commercial lines insurance
  • CIP or willingness to work towards a similar certification
  • Expert level understanding of coverage wordings, policy interpretations, case law, legislation, and insurance regulations
  • An applicable College or University degree is considered an asset
  • Excellent negotiation skills and ability to influence others
  • Experience or proven ability to coach and lead others
  • Excellent customer services skills including patience, empathy and concern for our customers along with the ability to understand customer needs
