Responsibilities:

Portfolio Steering

  • Analyze and report on Key Performance Indicators in accordance with the current philosophy and standards of the business. Prepare written reports (periodic and annual) as assigned.
  • Liaise with Temple Operations Department to ensure the respective KPI's are satisfactory. I
  • Provide clear instruction to the Business Analyst about cleaning and processing portfolio data.
  • Evaluate portfolio opportunities through audits and by data analytics, assesses and rate them and perform the necessary underwriting functions to propose decisions about the offered business.
  • Write, review, and approve policy wordings and grade their quality; understand the quality of policy administration systems.

Client Management

  • Maintain records and write a Partner Summary Profile Report for assigned
  • Maintain a meaningful business rapport with partners to assure that the existing mandate is effective and to find new opportunities that are in alignment with the company’s interests.
  • Manage existing accounts as well as develop, design and implement new products or programs with partners.
  • Develop market intelligence by investigating market conditions and meeting with existing and potential partners; report regularly to the Department and help roll out marketing plans.
  • Promote the products and services to existing and potential partners.
  • Ensure that fast and efficient service is provided to partners.
  • Travel for meetings, audits and industry events and keeps the Departments informed about the experiences.
  • Liaise with Operations, Business Analyst, Corporate Accounting, Claims and Actuary Departments to contribute to service excellence.

General Underwriting

  • Draft underwriting guidelines documents as required.
  • Handle and document Special Acceptances (referrals).
  • Analyze business in accordance with guidelines and philosophy and within written authorities/limits.
  • Schedule and perform underwriting Audits according to company standards. Also, contribute to (or directs) the preparation of the supporting audit reports.

Requirements:

  • 10+ Years of underwriting experience in Primary CGL, Umbrella, and Excess Insurance
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as Computer Science, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Statistics or equivalent.
  • CIP designations and working towards FCIP
  • Client management experience
  • Experience Underwriting MGA business
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, risk evaluation and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a small team environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
