Title: Business Relationship Manager (Affinity Markets)

Location: Downtown Toronto

Responsibilities:

Account Management

You are the account manager for all Group clients. You will liaise with client partners on a regular basis from a pre and post on-boarding process. Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with strategic partners, including monthly & quarterly touch points. Develop communication strategies to keep us top of mind.

Develop and source new partnerships for Employer Group, Associations and Affinity businesses.
Locating prospective customers through various mediums to ensure availability of a robust pipeline of prospective customers and generating them into leads, and eventually converting them to customers. Able to build strong and trusted relationships with clients up to and including C-level. Provide thought leadership to partners during ideation phase; develop customized, integrated, and creative partnership proposals that demonstrate insight and knowledge of client business, and our unique value proposition. Lead presentations to new prospects and negotiate partnerships with potential partners.

Ownership of Employee Benefit proposition for Employers

The basic Employee Benefit total rewards program offered is in place and is designed to help employers and employees increase their safety and productivity through our Safe Driving App. You will quickly gain comfort with and understand the intersection between home and auto insurance and employee benefits and be able to concisely articulate this to the prospective employer groups. You will further understand how to leverage our products and safety tools as a driver to increase employee productivity and employee wellness and its positive impact on employer costs in relation to lost productivity and health care costs because of improving driving behaviour. You will create a plan with employers of how to integrate our offering into their workplace and increase insurance sales within the ranks of their employees. You will achieve this by working with each individual employer group to understand their employee base and their operations and in turn create a sales and marketing plan specific to them.

Develop and execute sales strategy to Group and Affinity partners

Create forecasting and sales targets to be delivered as a component of overall Company sales targets. Develop a deep and thorough understanding of the partner or prospect’s business and competitive environment, understand our insurance product and safe driving app and leverage our strengths to build a compelling sales narrative.  Create a pipeline of new business, a sales strategy and rollout plan identifying viable prospects. Creating and delivering powerful and persuasive client presentations either in person or virtually to deliver results. 

Develop and own Employer, Group and Affinity Content Creation

Create content in relevant magazines, blogs, digital channels and work closely together with the marketing and app team to create multiple communications channels and mediums to increase our reach to Employer, Group & Affinity partners. Where needed working together with our marketing team to develop marketing and advertising campaigns to increase reach and impact to the target market. Work closely together with People & Culture team to understand how to drive conversion with employees within employer groups. 

Performance Management

You will work closely with the group representatives to understand their business and propose various strategies and sales tactics to create more engagement within each group. You will work with our marketing and data team to analyze performance of the various books of business and where needed intervene. Comfort with and use of data and analytics to track group behaviour, assess performance, and use insights learned to improve performance and pivot where needed to drive future growth

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in selling and overseeing Group & Affinity partners
  • Post secondary education
  • 3+ years of experience with Property & Casualty Insurance; required
  • A results-driven approach to meet and exceed partnership key performance indicators (KPI’s)
  • Strong relationship management skills and an aptitude for identifying opportunities and building and presenting business cases.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing is an asset
  • A preference for working in an open and collaborative cross functional team environment  
  • Knowledge of insurance products and business solutions is preferred. 
  • Great presentation skills and are comfortable with numbers Proven ability to build consensus and work effectively within a cross-departmental team. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels.

Compensation: Competitive salary, Bonus up to 20%, benefits and RRSP.
