Our client, a venerable and established Life/ Group Benefits and wealth management consulting firm, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Group Benefits Consultant to join their practice, located in the downtown Toronto core.
The role will involve a fairly even split between handling new business referrals and servicing existing business for mostly small and medium group accounts as well as some individual Life/Health and wealth products. New business referrals are provided by the firm’s partners and involve meeting with clients to assess their needs and subsequently obtain quotes from your markets to identify and offer optimal coverage terms. New accounts are then retained in your portfolio for servicing and renewals etc..
More specific day-to-day duties will include;
Ø New Business: Coordinate any referral opportunities for new group insurance and/or group retirement prospects including explaining how these programs operate, gathering all necessary information to seek quotations from the marketplace, preparing and presenting the marketing report along with making reasoned recommendations as to who would be the best long term provider for the client
Ø Individual Health and Dental/Travel Insurance: Coordinate any referral opportunities for these lines of business including explaining how these programs operate and gathering all necessary information to seek quotations from the marketplace and make reasoned recommendations as to the best long term solution for the client
Ø Account Management/Service: Service is the foundation of our business model. All current business must be maintained and enhanced within the best interest of the client. Advising on alternative benefits and procedures and rectifying any service concerns the client or plan members may have with the goal of zero hassle for all clients in administering their respective group programs.
Ø Providing Group Insurance/Retirement Expertise: This position will act as the resident group insurance and retirement specialist and will be called upon to provide that expertise as it relates to individual insurance solutions and service matters generating from the individual division of the firm
Ø Administration: This position is responsible for maintaining and updating all records, systems, templates and communication regarding specific group clients and the group block of business as a whole as well as on the group industry in general.
